Live out your Burning Man festival fantasies at Fenix Beach Club, a hip and happening beach retreat, located just 20 minutes by boat from Cartagena.

  • This Is What We Love

    • Arriving on Tierra Bomba’s largest—and nicest—stretch of sand with your crew and racing to the biggest and best beach bed
    • Flipping out over the cocktail menu and ordering everything. It’s all in the name of hedonistic festival living after all
    • Grazing on sumptuous seafood whilst gazing out to sea. Castillogrande’s skyscrapers look even more impressive from afar
    • Spontaneously deciding to spend the night in one of their boho beach cabins. Best (drunk) decision ever made!
  • What You Need To Know

    • A day pass here includes transport, a traditional lunch and full use of the facilities. You can find information about boat departure times here
    • The sand is white, but remember that this is Tierra Bomba, not the Rosario Islands, so the water isn’t quite as Caribbean as you would like
    • Fenix is perfect for big groups who want to listen to Ibiza tunes in an inspired, spiritual setting. It’s not too raucous, but families and couples might prefer one of our other beach options

    Our Full Review

Fenix Beach Club is about reinvigoration and reinvention with a shot of reckless dare devil. It’s close proximity to the city centre means you can wake up late and still enjoy an incredible day in a Caribbean beach setting.

Fenix Beach Club is all about flexibility, so choose your vibe, whether it’s a yoga session at sunset, a private beach party or relaxed bonding session with amigos and go with the Caribe flow.

It’s not just the original concept which makes this place so appealing, the space itself is also pretty stunning. As well as occupying one of Tierra Bomba's sexiest stretches of sand, it boasts a palatial pool overlooking the inspiring surrounds, as well as a tempting restaurant, serving a European/Colombian swirl of options, including palatable paellas and succulent seafood treats.

The beach club comes alive during the holidays with pop-up parties with the best DJs and dance acts from Bogota and beyond.

With capacity to hold up to 400 people, the club has become a hot spot for pre- or post-wedding parties or any other excuse to get a big group together and hit the islands for the day.

  • Tierra Bomba

Just seven minutes from Castillogrande, the white sandy beaches of Punta Arena on the eastern side of the large island of Tierra Bomba is one of the best kept secrets of Cartagena.

'Los Nativos' or the Tierra Bomba locals are proud Spanish slave descendants hungry to make a quick from their newfound beach goldmine.

They'll take good care of you and cook you a traditional seafood dish and serve up all the drinks you need to pass the day.

There's a flurry of new beach clubs springing up that offer clients a nearby escape for late-risers that can't be bothered to make the trek to the Rosario Islands.
